Your info, handled with care
The short version: we only collect what we need to book and look after you, we never sell it, and you can ask us about it any time.
Tancouver is a spray tan studio owned by Deborah Bastow, at 1020 Mainland St, Unit 137, Yaletown, Vancouver, BC V6B 2T5. This policy covers tancouver.com and the information you share with us when you book, get in touch or visit the studio.
- When you book: your name, email, phone number and payment details, so we can confirm your appointment, send reminders and take payment. Bookings are handled by our booking provider (see below).
- When you contact us: your name, email and message, so we can reply.
- At your appointment: notes about your skin and the tan we used, so your next tan is just as good. If anything about your skin concerns us, we may mention it so you can see your doctor.
- When you browse the site: anonymous, aggregated visit statistics (pages viewed, rough location, device type). These use no cookies and can’t identify you.
We don’t sell, rent or trade your information, and we only use it for the reasons above.
A few trusted providers help run the site. Each handles information under its own privacy policy:
- Squarespace Scheduling (Acuity): online booking, reminders and payment.
- Shopify: the Tinted by Tancouver online store.
- Cloudflare: hosts this website, provides cookie-free visit statistics and checks contact-form messages for spam (Turnstile). The spam check only runs when you use the form.
- Resend: delivers messages from our contact form to our inbox.
- Instagram (Meta), via Behold: shows our latest posts on the homepage. Images load from their servers.
- OpenFreeMap: the map on our Location page. Map images load from their servers.
- Google Workspace: our email.
When a page loads images or maps from these services, they receive basic technical information such as your IP address, as with any website.
This website doesn’t set cookies. Our booking page and online store are run by Squarespace and Shopify, which may use their own cookies when you visit them.
We keep client records for as long as you’re a client and for a reasonable time afterwards for our business and tax records, then delete them. Contact messages are kept only as long as needed to help you.
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent to us using it. Just email us and we’ll respond within 30 days. If you’re not happy with how we’ve handled your information, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
